Mystic Well

Repair ye to the mystic well,
sitting shaded and adorned
by bracken, heather and wild flowers.
Wildlife all around and the fowls of the air
sing in tune to its babbling sound

Neither complex nor complicated,
nor a lifeless ornament of admiration.
Its only claim to divinity its creation.
Part of Mother Nature's vast array.

Not controlled by man nor season,
A metaphor for the water of life,
an instrument of caring.
Enriching and enhancing, it subscribes to
the quality of life.

Like an oasis in the desert,
it fortifies all living things,
the Flora and Fauna.
A provider of sustenance to all partakers.

It is a reservoir of solace,
replenishing a vital need.
Keeping body and soul together
giving mortals peace of mind,
A source of communication and restoration.
