A view of John 3:16

Is the glass half full or half empty ? This question advances either
the negative reply or the positive reply. Psychology encourages being positive in our thinking. Television bombards viewers with a multiplicity of help lines from child abuse to financial problems. A constant platform of advice and help. A whole new career has evolved in recent decades-it is called counselling. Short term and crash courses, at a price, are offered with diplomas in counselling. Soon the field will become flooded
with so called 'experts'. But (and this is a serious but) the influx of
these experts has failed to halt the deterioration of a sick society.
The floatsam and jetsam of society is increasingly fermenting into
a stagnation that seems unwashable, insurmountable and can be
grossly ignored by newspapers and other media.

Of course, today's newspaper is tomorrows fish and chips wrapping.
The most positive helpline at man's disposal is 43162003, that simply
means 4 is the fourth gospel, 3 is the third chapter, 16 is the verse, and 2003 is the NOW of the Bible: "Now is the day of salvation" 2Cor 6:2. John3:16 is the Bible in a nutshell. The Bible is full of assurances and promises that sparkle like diamonds from a casket.
God is a specialist at seeking something useful and beautiful out of
something broken and confused. "He heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3 Who would deny that today we have a secular mist rolling faster towards us by the day, and bringing the horizon of obscenity, vulgarity, perversion and mockery right to our front door.
John3:16 teaches that God is a reservoir of power-unlimited power.
God begats- Jesus is forgotten, what a gift of salvation!
This is NOT mere ink on paper, paint on board. The foundation of John3:16 is the tremendous HOPE of the Christian. A hope which is eternal A gallon of petrol lasts a few miles. A television licence lasts a year. In Jesus Christ HOPE Lasts for ETERNITY.
The Christian has an ENDLESS HOPE The sinner has a hopeless end.
