The
Highlands of Scotland
Lochs,
mountains and valleys,
Purple heather, eagles, wildlife in the glens and
alleys.
Roads, rivers and rail
A picture that cannot fail.
Highland
cattle roam in the fields,
Motorists stopping with camera reels,
Rivers flow into the lochs with a song,
Passers-by, pause; then pass along.
History
surrounds to tell the tale;
The commando-monument museums and other regal
From Fort William to Fort Augustus and beyond,
The magnetism draws people to respond.
Admire
Glenfinnan`s Pass,
And the forests flourishing in mass.
Fishermen on the rivers making a cast,
For rainbow trout, salmon or even bass.
Views of
beauty await inspection,
Caught by the traveller from every direction,
The awe-inspiring scenes-an album collection,
The friendliness of Highland people of vital connection.
