former community education worker has graduated from an American
college. •Henderson
Lightbody, of Greenock has received a Doctorate in Theology from
Logus European College. It is based at Dalgety Bay, Fife, and
affiliated to The Southern Bible Institute and Seminary of
Georgia, USA.
•Henderson
Lightbody graduated years ago from the former Bible Training
Institute in Glasgow and was a Pastor and port missioner in Troon
and Ardrossan, before changing his career and becoming a community
education worker.
•Henderson,
69, worked in Inverclyde’s community education department for 21
years before taking early retirement in 1992.
•The
father-of-six, who lives in Overton, said: ”From 1993 to 1998, I
wrote a 90,000 word dissertation entitled ‘The History and
Doctrines of the Christian Religion’, which was highly commended
by Professor David Ferguson of Aberdeen University”.
•Dr.
Lightbody, who has seven grandchildren, has written two books of
poems and a book, “The Fighting Without and The Fear Within”.
He has contributed to Premier Christian Radio and written hundreds
of articles for newspapers and magazines.
