The
Commando-Monument
See on
yonder hill lies
a monument of glory:
of brave souls who fought and died
leaving a legacy of an heroic story.
Beneath the stillness of the skies
the feel of history surrounds.
Windows of water cascade from my eyes,
their sacrifice of life seems all around.
Repair ye with gratefulness
to that hallowed ground.
Witness if you will with an
offering of thankfulness.
They never grew old as their
sun sank beyond the horizon.
Freedom, freedom for all, was their bequest.
Yet, they were too young for this rest.
